Acura unveils a powerful reboot of the NSX supercar

Acura boasts that its powerful and precise NSX is the only supercar fully developed, designed and manufactured in the United States. This is a big statement, and it says a lot about the confidence Acura has in its super powered sports car. With a classic sports car look and cutting-edge technology, Acura NSX drivers are in for a unique driving experience, and it’s hard to argue that there are better sports cars out there.

The NSX is built at Acura’s plant in Marysville, Ohio. Factory workers here take their time to ensure that no detail is missed, and the company uses space-age technology along with ultra-high-strength steel. This, combined with a very lightweight aluminum body with a hybrid 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine and three direct-drive electric engines give the Acura NSX a ton of power. With the nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and sport hybrid super handling AWD, the 573 horses under the hood, along with 476 pound-feet of torque give the sports car more power than most can handle.

Now, with all that power, you may think that the Acura NSX is too heavy. But with a curb weight of just over 3,800 pounds, you will enjoy a 0-60 time of a little under three seconds. The Acura NSX has an impressive top speed of nearly 200 mph, and it begs you to take it on the track. The NSX doesn’t sit high off the ground, and it only has a few inches of clearance at the nose. However, once inside, while the cabin is tidy and neat, you won’t be cramped, and the race seats are comfortable for people of all sizes. This isn’t a car that’s meant to sit in traffic, and there are three driving mode selections Sport, Sport + and Track and Quiet. Notice there is no setting for Boring, Traffic or Standard.

The interior of the NSX is more like the interior of a luxury car. With Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a Pandora radio interface and an LCD touch screen, you can certainly enjoy your ride to the fullest. Of course, there are things that make the car practical, and a rearview camera ensures that you won’t bump into anything when backing up. While it may seem too powerful and too sporty, it’s a drivable car, and you won’t have trouble in traffic or driving on a crowded freeway. If you want to see for yourself how easy and fun an Acura NSX is to drive, check one out at Audi of Tucson. Once behind the wheel, it will be hard not to fall in love with the nearly-perfect handling and all that power.

This two-seater passenger sports car isn’t for everyone. With a base cost of nearly $160,000, it’s certainly out of reach for most potential buyers. But, with so much power and luxury, it’s actually a better deal than most other sports cars. And, of course, if you want one of the best sports cars on the planet, you are going to have to pay for it.
