Acura is one of the most beloved automotive brands in the North American market. Its vehicles are known for their performance, dependability, style and innovation. The Japanese automaker offers a wide range of excellent automobiles in a variety of sizes to buyers in North America. Now comes word Acura may soon offer yet another exciting model to its North America faithful. It is a new crossover called the CDX. This will provide Acura lovers with yet another great option in the company’s impressive lineup from which to choose. This is a welcome addition to the company’s North American fans.

The Acura CDX is a small luxury CUV that is currently sold in China. The vehicle is based on the well-liked and very successful Honda HR-V. The Acura CDX has been embraced in the Chinese market and according to the vice president of the Acura group in the U.S., Jon Ikeda, the vehicle could soon make its way across the Pacific to the North America shores. This new CUV is sure to get a warm reception in the North American automotive market. Not only because Acura is a well-respected brand, but also because it’s the perfect size. Large enough to hold whatever most people need to carry, yet small enough to get great gas mileage.

The automobile market in North America has now had its fill with large SUVs. Yet people still need something a little larger than the standard sedan. The Acura CDX could end up being the perfect sized vehicle hitting the market at just the right time. Crossovers are garnering a growing share of the automotive market in North America and adding one with the Acura nameplate could work out well for the Japanese automaker and the buying public. The combination of luxury, performance, fuel-economy and a little added space could make this small luxury CUV impossible to resist. While not available for sale in the United States, if you want to see what other Acura’s you may like, head down to Chapman ACura.

Acura’s R&D team are in the midst of taking a very close look at the potential reception the Acura CDX will receive. Plus there are a number of regulatory hurdles the company would have to deal with the could make the decision to bring this new Acura CUV to North America a little more complicated. But the move is generating so much excitement and attention, the company is giving it serious consideration. What has many people excited is although the CDX is similar in looks to the Honda HR-V, it has the 1.5 liter turbo-four engine that powers Honda’s CR-V and the Civic mated with an amazing eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

With the North American market for CUVs growing steadily, bringing the Acura CDX over the Pacific will enable the company to capture a slice of this lucrative market. Currently the Audi Q3, the BMW X1, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-class and the Infiniti QX30 are a few of the automobiles that dominate this segment. But with its size, technological advancements, performance and luxurious appointments, plus Acura’s reputation for quality, the CDX would surely give them a run for their money.
