2019 Acura ILX Gets A Sharper Face, Standard Safety Tech

For 2019, Acura has given the ILX a major aesthetic overhaul that includes a sharper face, new taillights and rear fascia, as well as a redesigned lower diffuser. The automaker has also added more standard safety tech, more responsive infotainment technology and infused an updated design language that make this vehicle look very attractive. What is even better is that even with all the improvements and upgrades that Acura has made to the 2019 ILX the automaker has actually lowered its base price by thousands of dollars. This has made this incredible automobile an even better value for buyers.

On The Inside

Acura has upgraded the interior of the 2019 ILX and made it more stylish, attractive and comfortable. That includes its new expresso interior motif, a driver’s seat with power-adjustable lumbar controls, a new-look two-screen infotainment system layout with new software that makes it more intuitive and its response time 30 percent faster and it has both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. Even the start button has a more stylish look. Plus, there’s a new dashboard design that makes all important screens and gauges visible at a glance and puts all the key controls at your fingertips.

On The Outside

The 2019 Acura ILX’s narrower new face is just one part of its redesigned front end. It includes more swept-back, intricate, futuristic-looking headlights, a sharper grille, flowing lines, a sleeker, more aerodynamic body and several other gorgeous styling cues. Choose the sporty A-Spec package and Acura adds a body kit that includes LED fog lights, dark chrome exterior trim, headlights and taillights with a darker appearance and edition-specific 18-inch alloy rims. The A-Spec package also adds unique seat stitching and dash accents and A-Spec badges in the interior. It all combines to create a spectacular look. Under The Hood

The same powertrain drives all trims and models of the 2019 Acura ILX. It’s a 201 horsepower, 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated gasoline engine. It works in combination with a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission to produce 180 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2019 Acura ILX and it gets 24 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg when it hits the highway for a combined average of 29 mpg.

Safety Technology

One of the most notable safety upgrades made to the 2019 Acura ILX was making Acura’s collection of safety systems, both active and passive, that the automaker calls AcuraWatch, standard on every model of the 2019 ILX. They include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning and several other driver assistance features.
