2018 Acura MDX Is Flashy and Offers Plenty of Tech

 

The Acura MDX is new and improved for 2018. It now comes in flashier colors, has a better infotainment systems and features lots more technological advancements than ever before. One of the major upgrades on the 2018 Acura MDX is its redesigned infotainment system. The most important change to the 2018 Acura MDX, however, is the addition of the suite of active and passive safety systems called AcuraWatch. The AcuraWatch system on the Acura MDX for 2018 includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control. There’s also a backup camera that comes standard. Acura also gives buyers the option to add a surround-view camera system which provides the driver with a bird’s eye view which shows the area surrounding around the vehicle.

Under the hood, the 2018 Acura MDX is still powered by the excellent 3.5-liter, 290 horsepower V6 engine that people love. It delivers 267 pound-feet of torque and works in tandem with either a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive system. Acura also still offers the MDX Sport Hybrid which uses electric motors to power its rear wheels as the gasoline engine powers the front wheels. The 2018 Acura MDX with front-wheel drive gets 20 mpg in city driving and on the highway it gets 27 mpg. The all-wheel drive version gets 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg in highway driving.

Beginning in September 2017, the 2018 Acura MDX will start arriving at dealerships all across the country. The starting price for all the base, Technology, Tech and Entertainment, Advance and Advance and Entertainment trims in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models of the 2018 MDX is $150 more than the 2017 models. With all the upgrades and improvement available on the 2018 model of the MDX, by keeping the price the same Acura is essentially giving buyers those upgrades for free.
