The new MDX which was redesigned last year, is Acura’s 3rd generation of their acclaimed 7-passenger luxury performance SUV. The Acura SUV provides the discerning driver what every luxury customer desires – comfort, performance and connectivity at a price unmatched by other luxury brands.

The 2015 Acura MDX is powered by a new 3.5L direct-injected i-VTEC V6 engine that includes the fuel-saving Variable Cylinder Management technology. The 6-speed automatic transmissions transfers torque to pavement with Sequential SportShift paddle shifters. Other settings include sport mode and grade logic control. Acura’s famous Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) is now available on the MDX. A front wheel drive version is also available.

Reconstructed from the ground up, the MDX’s wheelbase is a bit longer, lower and narrower, which reduces the front area and improves fuel efficiency. Up to 64% of its body structure is made up of aluminum, high-strength steel and magnesium. It weighs in 275 lbs lighter than its predecessor, which instantly means better acceleration, nimble handling and fuel economy ratings that lead the segment.

The MDX has improved agility and inspirational dynamic performance thanks to the MacPherson strut front suspension, an updated multilink rear suspension and the completely new Electric Power Steering (EPS). Drivers can select their driving mode (comfort, normal or sport) based on their mood or driving conditions using the standard Integrated Dynamics System (IDS). Agile Handling Assist is a unique Acura technology that is standard on the MDX. It uses the vehicle’s brakes to enhance cornering ability and instills handling confidence.

The interior of the 2015 MDX provides luxurious comfort and quietness. Ideal for families or clients, the luxurious interior of the MDX offers passengers roomy seating, reclining 2nd row seats and a new Extended Slide feature that can be adjusted to provide the ideal amount of space.

There has been a dramatic improvement in cabin quietness and overall refinement. Hundreds of techniques have been put in place to reduce noise, harshness and vibration. Some of these noise reduction techniques include thicker, three-layer acoustic glass on front and side windows and also the windshield, thicker glass on rear doors, new triple side-sill seals on doors and Active Noise Control technology.

The 2015 Acura MDX base MSRP starts at $42,765 and goes up to $56,980 for the MDX SH-AWD that includes Advance, Entertainment, and AcuraWatch Plus upgrade packages. Both versions are available at Chapman Acura.

Not only has the 2015 Acura TLX been rated as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, it also received a 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The mid-size sedan received an overall 5-star vehicle safety score along with the highest scores in all the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) tests by NHTSA. The TLX got 5 stars in frontal crash tests, rollover tests and side crash. Acura’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body frame helps to disperse crash energy throughout the car more evenly, also added to the TLX’s strong performance. Another feature that earned the TLX high marks was the number of advanced safety air bags including the knee air bag.

AcuraWatch was introduced first on the Acura TLX. The system makes use of sensor fusion technology with a camera and radar mounted on the windshield. This feature increases the sensing capabilities of the vehicle and Acura is planning to have the safety suite on every 2016 model. Features of AcuraWatch include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and blind spot information, low-speed follow, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, multi-view rear view camera and rear cross traffic monitor.
The 2015 RLX and MDX SUV are other Acura models that received high scores from the NHTSA and IIHS. With the introduction of AcuraWatch, the automaker is planning to have high ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA for all of its models.

The TSX and TL has been replaced by the TLX. When the 2014 TSX was tested by NHTSA, the sedan obtained a 5 star rating for the rollover test, but it did not go through the other tests. The TSX safety ratings are an improvement over the TL, even though the 2014 model received an overall 4 star rating, with 4 stars for the side and frontal crashes and 5 stars in rollover testing.

Here are a few reasons why Acura’s customers are so happy.

First and foremost, since the parent company of Acura is Honda, we can see why Acura makes such great cars. Honda and Acura have been making great cars for a long time. This means that both companies have been around long enough to see it all, and both Acura and Honda have worked out any kinks, which leads to high customer satisfaction.  With years of experience, Acura has catapulted to the top of the pack as the company is on the cutting-edge when it comes to trying out new technology. Four Doors of Fun on Mountain Corners

With only one engine and transmission option, Acura has focused on what’s important in its entry-level luxury sedan. Fun is the key word for this athletic little trooper that makes the most out of a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 201 horsepower. The eight-speed transmission lets you put the car through its paces whether you’re taking the kids to school or trying to set the record for picking up Blizzards from Dairy Queen. Proper racing seat bolsters keep you firmly in place as you put the car through the paces. Firm racing suspension and responsive brakes help you not only maintain control, but feel like you are in charge on the road. Test-drive the 2016 Acura ILX today with a visit to Chapman Acura.

Quality Materials and Engaging Drive Please Customers

When a consumer wants a “entry-level” luxury vehicle, that usually means they want all the bells and whistles of a very expensive car without the hefty price tag. Luckily, the ILX delivers on all fronts. Standard amenities like a rearview camera, keyless entry, heated seats, moonroof and push-button start are all usually options at this price level. Equip your ILX with the A-Spec performance package and you get an impressive body side kit, decklid spoiler, aluminum pedals and the racing seats with Lux Suede where the bottom meets the cloth. Add the Technology Plus grouping for 3-D navigation, Acura Watch Plus, GPS climate control and an upgraded sound system with 10-speakers.

Sound Insulation Keeps the Noise on the Outside

If you turn down the audio and listen while driving the 2106 Acura ILX, you might be surprised at what you hear. You hear nothing, at least not as much as you’d hear in other vehicles in this category. By using thicker glass in the front doors and more insulation on the body panels, Acura is able to keep the annoying road noise outside where it belongs. Just because you want to race like you’re in a European road rally doesn’t mean you want the noise that goes along with it.

ILX Gives a Lot of Bang for Buck

Starting at just $27,900 for the base ILX, you can move all the way up to the top of the line for less than $7,000 more. Special financing for the ILX with the Technology Plus and A-Spec packages provides a low interest rate of 1.9 percent for qualified buyers for a limited time. Check with Chapman Acura to see how you can get the best purchase or lease rate for your ILX.

Is the 2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD really this good? Think about this, virtually all auto makers have at least one hybrid car or crossover. The Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA ) recently named this Acura the best Hybrid vehicle at their 3rd annual Drive Revolution showcase for vehicles that run on alternative fuels.

President of the NWAPA Nik Miles stated that Acura provided a hybrid drivetrain that includes an AWD as well as a sport package which was an impressive combination of performance and hybrid technology that is state of the art.

What really makes this car a success is that it doesn’t require any compromise from its drivers or passengers. On the exterior the RLX Hybrid has a sports sedan look. It showers luxury on the drivers and passengers and is lots of fun to drive. And it does all of this while having a great EPA rating of 30 mpg on average.

The car’s transmission is another key to its success. It comes with a 7-speed dual clutch automated manual transmission. This means the shifts kick in faster and harder, particularly when in Sport mode, which is activated by just a push of a button.

Last year the RLX sedan was introduced as the top of the line in Acura’s sedans. The EPA classifies it as a midsized vehicle, but with its spacious back seat area, it is closer to a full-size sedan. As expected, Acura has delivered an overall fit and finish that is good enough to compete with the more expensive European offerings. The list of standard entertainment, comfort and safety features is very impressive.

The only place where the RLX has come up short is that it didn’t have a performance model. So far it only came with a 3.5-liter V6, 6-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive. This combination is more than enough for regular daily motoring but it would have been nice to have an exciting driving option. This is why the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD was such a surprise. It provides great power and impressive handling and easily surpasses the EPA rating for most of its class gas-only cars.

Similar to all other hybrid vehicles, the trunk cargo space is reduced because of the extra batteries, but there is more than enough room for most family needs.

There are a few luxury sport sedans that are cheaper than the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD or might have better performance, depending on their set up, but its one of a kind combination of eco-friendly and speed is definitely worth a look for both the environmentalist and the car fanatic.

2016 Acura RDX

If you want a great SUV, you know that Acura is on your side as the company makes plenty of solid vehicles. And the redesign of the RDX is no exception. The 2016 Acura RDX has received a full makeover. Here are a few things that have changed for the 2016 model.

Better fuel economy: When getting an SUV, you know that you aren’t going to get as good as gas mileage as you would with a small car. However, you get more room, and you can go off-roading or fill up your SUV with plenty of people. Acura is not resting on its laurels though; the 2016 Acura RDX has a new nine-speed automatic transmission, and it has a feature that shuts the engine down at stops, which will save plenty of fuel. Don’t worry, the Acura RDX will still have a powerful V6 engine. To take one for a test drive and see how the engine works for you, head on down to Chapman Acura.

Interior: When improving upon the last model, Acura decided to fix up the interior a bit. Since it has a push-button transmission rather than a normal shifter knob, you get more room. While it may take time to get used to if you had an older model, you will come to love it as it’s easier to use and takes up less room. While not extremely comfortable for a long ride if you are an adult, the third-row of seats is great for children as they will be more than comfortable in the Acura RDX, even on a long road trip.

Tech: If you opt for the advanced tech package, and you should, you get a better sports seats that have premium leather. In the tech package, the seats are also ventilated and heated, both in the first and second row. As far as the rearview camera, it now has multiple viewing angles. If you need to back out of hard-to-see sports, you will appreciate the rear cross-traffic monitor. Just like with other Acura models, the 2016 Acura RDX has a forward collision warnings, which applies the brakes, in emergency situations, if you don’t. Finally, the RDX has a Lane Keeping Assist System and adaptive cruise control to keep you safe on the road.

Navigation and sound: With the NAV and sound system, you get two separate screens to access it all. Whether you want to change the radio station or the temperature, the RDX is easy to use, and it is very intuitive. With a standard USB/iPod Integration and the impressive sound system, you can take your RDX down the road and enjoy the sounds of the stereo, all while not getting lost.

If you are looking for a new and updated SUV, you can stop looking as the 2016 Acura RDX is better than ever.
